I own three pair of Keen's size 9 sandals. They are simply the best. My wife is equally pleased with hers. As I walk daily 11 kms on an unpaved and rocky road in Costa Rica, something more substantial than a sandal seemed in order. I was very pleased to receive my Voyageur shoes. They were exactly what I needed - or half so. The right (my dominant - larger foot) fit perfectly. The left shoe was simply too small. Checked the size? Yup, size 9. I wore them around the house for a few days to stretch them out - they do not stretch. Today as a last resort, I took them on my daily walk. Right foot comfy - left foot painfully cramped. I have to believe that the nice person in China in charge of Voyageur size 9 left shoes was asleep at the switch when my pair came through. I am returning the Voyageur's and (having faith in Keen) have ordered a size 9 pair of Marshall's. Given that freight from Miami and customs cost me an extra $48.40 plus the return postage to the US of a about $50, my disappointment comes at a considerable cost.

Timberland 23061 Men's WP Chukka Wheat Nubuck w/ Chocolate 7.5 M US Review

Timberland 50061 Newbuck Chukka is the same as this black chukka. This is THE most comfortable and lightweight all around no BS boot I've ever worn. There's no Thinsulate but it is very water "Proof" I'm sure you don't want to walk into a pool with them but again, they are great boots Make sure you get the 50061 they have a lighter sole than the other Timberland boots less "Beefy" I use them for work and for the gym as well. Just all around the best boots I've ever worn. For Deep snow I would say get an 8' at least boot but for hiking, gym, work from CA to NY the 50061 is great. The new buck gets dirty fast so get 2 pair. One for beating on and one for going out "styling" if you will. Again, very light weight, true to size can't beat em for under $100.00. Great for landscaping, hunting, you name it. If you need severe cold weather you may try something with an Insulate if not these are the best boots ever made. The Black model is a different # but exactly the same just in Black Leather.

I am a big fan of these boots...they are extremely comfortable and have a great laid-back chic vibe. I'm a 10 (sometimes 10.5) and bought a 9.5 per reviewers' recommendations and they fit perfectly. I needed a waterproof boot for walking, with a low heel and good traction. After trying several brands and styles in the store, I ordered these online. They are nearly perfect. The one and only drawback is I wish they were not so wide across the ball of the foot, since my feet are fairly narrow. Worn with a hiking weight sock, they are very comfortable, but feel sloppy with a regular weight sock. The instep, ankle and heel fit are great and they don't slip. Love the looks with pants or skirts. They're also light, warm, and have good arch support.

Vibram FiveFingers Spyridon LS - Men's Military Green/Grey/Black 41 Review

I bought these specifically for trail running and they're good but not the best VFF option out there. I really like the sole, but I'm not a fan of the upper. I think they should ditch the laces and make a version of these that just have the straps. I've tried a few other VFF models for trail running and these are good but not the best. Here's a head to head comparison of both the soles and uppers of Spyridons vs. other models.

Soles:
The Spyridon sole has a very rough tred that makes it ideal for running in mud and loose dirt, provides a lot of traction.

Spyridon LS vs Komodosport: The Komodosport have a lightweight sole but offer very little traction in mud. I bought the Spyridon specifically for its treds and it really delivers in that department. They get excellent traction on a variety of surfaces. The spyridon also has much better rock protection. Winner: Spyridon.

Spyridon LS vs Treksport: These are really similar in terms of the amount of traction they afford, but the Spyridon sole is a lot more flexible than the Treksport. The Spyridon seems to do a slightly better job of rock protection, but again it's still pretty close. Winner: Spyridon.

Uppers:
The Spyridon upper only comes in the "LS" variety, meaning that it has laces instead of straps. I really wish there was a strappy option. The laces are short enough that you don't get much room to adjust them, and just below the laces there's a leather band that prevents the shoe from stretching properly if you have a wide forefoot.
Another drawback to the laces is that there's nothing stabilizing your heel. If you make the compromise I do of buying shoes that are the right width but a little bit too long, expect your feet to slide back and forth a little bit. Hello blisters.

The material composing the upper is also very thick and stays wet longer than I would care for.

Spyridon LS vs Komodosport: The Komodosport are still without a doubt the best upper on any pair of VFFs I've tried. They fit snugly and the dual straps are a killer. A shoe with the Spyridon sole and the Komodosport upper would be the ultimate trail running shoe. Winner: Komodosport.

Spyridon LS vs Komodosport LS: They're pretty similar from what i remember. I took my Komodosport LS back after one run, and traded them in for the regular Komodosport, because the upper sucked so bad. I share that same sentiment for the Spyridon LS. It's a tie.

Spyridon LS vs Treksport: The Treksport upper is light and breathable, dries quickly, but it lacks the dual straps of the Komodosport. Still miles better than the Spyridon.

So I'm going to say again, the Spyridon sole with a Komodosport upper would be the perfect trail running shoe. Get on that, Vibram.

Until then I'm sticking with the Komodosport except for rare circumstances where the Spyridon sole is necessary.

I wear a size 10 and that is what I ordered. They fit true to size. These shoes have good arch support, if you have high arches like myself. I wear these for work and am outdoors alot. The waterproofing is the main reason for this purchase. Have not put them to the test yet, so I can not say that they truely are. I do know that sometimes I am on feet for 12-14 hour days and my feet do not feel tired or sore at the end of the day with these shoes.
