After light use walking trails at home I took these on a very walking intensive trip and was able to wear them daily with no blisters, hot spots or other discomfort. My Luxe are black and the styling is very casual and modern, with a rough finish on the leather that weathered into beautiful character after some wear. The styling of the boots is great for casual events and the black keeps things subdued enough to blend into just about any boot appropriate outfit.

Puddle tested performance = Warm, dry feet. No idea about the boot's performance in downpours or snow. Finish is easy to clean and maintain, I can see these boots lasting 5+ years of heavy autumn/winter use.

Love this rain boot. Linen print is much prettier than pictured. Not necessarily a fashion boot as it's a sturdy, heavy duty rain boot, with the appearance of being a little wider and clunkier than a fashion boot. They appear to be extremely well made. Only problem is they run small. I wear an 8.5 or 9 and I ordered the 9. Could barely get my foot into the boot, and once I did, my big toe was uncomfortably squished into the toe. I did have ample room on the sides of my feet, and I have an average width foot. The cushioning was great...Felt like I could have run around in them all day! I liked them enough that I will be exchanging them for a size 10 and hope they are not too big! (I've never worn a size 10 so that seems just a little weird!) :)

I've owned two pairs of these boots. I've worn out both, but gotten some enjoyable service also. Like most things, I've learned there are both pros and cons with them. First, the pros. These are very comfortable boots right out of the box needing little or no break in before steady use. The toe box is roomer than in most hiking boots. The lacing system afford nice tight lacing. They are very light weight and perfect for light duty walking and mild hiking. They offer good grip on any dry, firm surface. I've enjoyed mine as long as I use them within their limits. Now, the cons. I have done a lot of hiking in rugged dessert area with these boots. They DO NOT stand up to this kind of use. They wear out quickly, the soles tend to delaminate and the foot bed is not thick enough or strong enough to protect your feet on rough surfaces. Although they are not water proof, if they get wet they seem to break down quicker. Improved trail hiking in dry conditions is about their limit. Having owned a number of other Keen products, I expect more, from Keen and for this price.

So, I have been looking for a trail shoe that is not to minimal but with a very low drop and with some good protection while maintaining a light weight. Very picky! I went through a pair of Brooks PureGrits and Asics Gel-Fuji Trainer 2s... Although very decent shoes one did not have enough grip and made my feet slide while taking hills and the other did not have enough protection from sharp rocks or debris. I finally noticed alot of folks up on the mountains wear PIs for the races and training, so I decided to look around and give them a shot. Due to the lack of availability of trail shoes on shoe stores around the area I decided to give the road version a try for fit. They felt fantastic, so like the deal finder that I am I came here to Amazon for a decent price.

The first time I ran on the N2s it felt as if they were frozen, very rigid and felt dull. But after the first 2 miles, I began to feel and understand why so many mountain runners prefer them. They offer a lot protection from the ground while still returning lots of feedback and traction. The 6-7 mm drop feels great, and even though it sits a bit higher from the ground they are nimble. I have about 30-35 miles on them right now, mainly hill work for about 4-5 at a time, no sliding around, no hot spots, no complaints, I can fly down hill and my toes don't scream at me from the crushing sensation I got out of the previous two. They are fantastic for the price. I hear they are lasting a bit longer than usual as well.

One thing I would change, the lacing, it might be cause I have skinny feet, but I end up with lots of lacing left somehow. Other than that, if they somehow can make it an ounce lighter, they would go head to head with the best of the best. Awesome job Pearl Izumi, I am a fan now.

I purchased a pair of these shoes this afternoon. and came home went on Amazon and bought another pair and saved 56.00. I have terrible pain in pretty much every pair of shoes that I wear. I saw these on someone and after their praise of these shoes went to the store and bought a pair. They were comfortable at the store but I always worry because after an hour or so the pain starts to creep in.( I do need surgery) .These shoes however are so comfortable and adorable too . My feet are in heaven. I have had them on for 5 hours and they are even more comfy than when I first tried them on. I am a size 41 and they fit perfectly. I tried the mules that are similar to these but they were not nearly as comfortable run a size large and were slippery on my feet. I liked these better. These are the only pair of shoes that I have that I don't need to put an insert in and can still be pain free in.

These are comfortable and good-looking boots. I wish the buckle obsession would end, as they are a bit of a distraction to these nicely shaped boots, but at least these are functional and can be used to snug up the heel. They look great with skinny jeans, tights and skirts, and leggings. I haven't yet worn them in the snow, so I don't know how the sole will be on slippery surfaces - it doesn't have much tread, so that might be a problem. I'm thinking of getting them in another color.
