which can also double as a light hiker/walking shoe. My first pair of Ahnu's. Bought them in a store after trying them out. The design/lacing of the shoe is such that you are guaranteed a fit, and they were true to my size (9.5). They look quite smart, inviting positive comments. Rugged appearing , but soft leather on the sides, suede in the center. Insole is anatomical, seems like a hybrid EVA/PU, soft and supportive (arch wise, and otherwise). Midsole is of 2 densities (or at least shades of EVA), with a firm somewhat rigid rubber outsole. The overall effect is comfort and stability as you walk. The only problem is that I have a smaller heel which slips a little with this design (not much cupping towards the inside back of heel). I had use a lace lock(a simple lacing trick)to push the heel back. Now the shoe is in my walking shoe rotation, and will be only shoe when I travel, replacing another excellent shoe Merrell Men's Sight
