The Louis Garneau Women's Tri X-Speed Triathlon Cycling Shoes are designed to offer superior ventilation and have a women specific fit as well as performance features to give you that extra edge during your next race. The upper part of the shoe is comprised of a combination of synthetic leather and mesh that is lightweight and gives you the comfort and support needed for a long workout. Interchangeable Ergo Air Cool Stuff blue insoles allow for thru-ventilation and keep your feet dry when the weather heats up. The reversed velcro strap with Power Flex system is angled to ensure proper arch support, reduce forefoot pressure, and provide next-to-skin fit. The decentered straps provide effective heel support. Heel reflector for increased visibility during night and early morning rides. The Ergo Air II nylon outsole features a multivent system that provides excellent rigidity and increased ventilation. The HRS-80 retention system positions the heel for a more powerful pedal stroke. The pull hoop on the back of the shoe is anchored from the bottom of the heel so you can pull the shoes on quickly and easily. Elite Fit. Cleat position indicator compatible with SPD-SL, TIME, LOOK and SPEED PLAY with shims. Cleats not included.

These shoes are so light and airy, but I ended up returning because I only need a half size bigger and this brand does not offer the 40.5 as some other brands do. I was concerned that the 41 would be too large (I typically were a women's 8 1/2 or 9 in US sizes). I went to a local bike shop where I tried on shoes, got the best fit and didn't have to pay shipping fees (the seller did not charge S&H but now that I am returning them I will be charged the original S&H and will be deducted from the return) . They are really cool looking, perfect without socks, and so quick to get on and off. I don't ride competitively so maybe they were the right shoe for me to begin with.
