I have had a pair of these boots for over two years now and they are my go-to shoe. I was really excited when I saw them on here the other day because I didn't think they sold them anymore. And I was immediately shocked and appalled by the negative reviews these boots got, considering neither of the two negative reviewers seem to have actually WORN them. I have.

These boots come with a little stiff leather because they are NEW. If you're looking for "softer" i.e. previously broken/pseudo-worn-in hipster boots, then you can go to hell and look somewhere else. These are quality boots, and it doesn't take long to wear them in. Earn your boot scuffs, you will be a better person for it.

What I like about these boots:
1) They don't make me look like an angsty teenager that's mad at my parents like 1460s (the leather is not thinner either, as previously slandered).
2) The leather gets really soft after you treat them and wear them a while. The upper feels like a moccasin, but you still have ankle support and DM's infamously comfortable sole.
3) I get compliments on them ALL OF THE TIME. Daily, no joking. These are slick boots.
4) Absolutely no question that these are quality boots. Not cheap.
5) You can dress them up. Look great with blue jeans (extra awesome if cuffed), but I have also worn them with a suit and tie. I just bought a second pair for work (semi-formal).
6) I still have traction after over two years of heavy wear.

I am a Geologist and avid outdoorsman, and these work as hiking boots as well. My regular hiking boots were getting resoled when I got an opportunity to climb Mt. Whitney and I wore these guys. They don't have the most ankle support of boots I've owned, but that means I can wear them in public without looking like a guerrilla warrior. So when I went to Morocco for three weeks and took only a small carry-on sized bag, I only took one pair of shoes and didn't have to think twice about what they would be. Climbed to the highest peak in the Rif mountains, traversed windy Medina streets, scrambled up Saharan sand dunes and looked awesome doing it.

I love these boots. We've done a lot of cool stuff together, seen some great views, and impressed a lot of people. Have two pairs now, might have to get a third just in case they disappear!
