Very soft leather, very comfortable. Ordered both these and ECCO Chase in same color (they are the same color, even though one says "Lion" and the other "Amber," I think), so I could directly compare. Both are very comfortable, but the Chase has much more cushioning in the footbed. The Crisp was comfortable, too, however, so I kept them both. Hard to find shoes that fit my right foot, as I have a problematic right big toe, and most shoes are too narrow across the instep. I highly recommend both these and the ECCO Chase. The Chase does have more footbed cushioning and arch support--key difference.
