This is my first hiking shoes. I took a week of regular walking (at work) and some trail running to break them in. These were comfortable from the get go and performed to expectations. I rolled my ankle twice since I had these shoes, however never had a problem with normal sneakers. Following that I week, I took it for an adventure to Machu Pichu, and it held up wonderfully. My whole trip is summed up by a 10 day hike through the stairs and streets of urban cities and ancient ruins. The shoe however traps a lot of heat and moisture. Fortunately it also keeps your feet dry from outside conditions, based on my experience in the water fountain park of Lima. I'd recommend this shoe overall.
