The Impact Low combines Five Ten's sticky rubber sole, an Action leather upper, mesh venting panels and Slingshot construction for an unmatched combination of freeride performance and comfort. The Impact Low Shoe has a Five Ten Stealth rubber sole. Stealth rubber gives you tons of grip so your feet stay firmly planted on the pedals. This soft rubber compound also provides grip when you're off the bike scrambling up a sketchy section, and is extremely durable. No other rubber out there is as sticky and lasts as long against the offenses of the gnarly traction pins on your pedals. Five Ten also gave the Impact Low a compression-molded polyurethane midsole to absorb vibration and impact to reduce fatigue. The Impact Low's upper is burly, abrasion-resistant leather upper that holds up to season-after-season of ridiculous off-road abuse. Mesh panels on both sides of the shoe promote cooling airflow to keep your feet dry and comfortable while you ride. Slingshot construction at the heel locks the foot down for a secure, comfortable fit. This eliminates heel-lift, which causes hot spots and blisters. The Impact High also features barrel-lacing to prevent 'lace-bite' during long days in the saddle. The Five Ten Impact Low Shoe comes in Team Black and Pacific Blue. I wanted to transition away from SPD's back to flat pedals for mountain biking, and I heard great things about these shoes. They do not disappoint! The "stealth" rubber tread compound lives up to its reputation. The back of the shoe wraps around as one solid piece to form the tongue, an interesting design that leaves the shoe feeling like a very solid and supportive fit. The shoes are wider than typical tennis shoes and it's been awhile since I've worn anything so bulky, but for mountain biking they're perfect. I tried them out yesterday hitting the most rocky trails in my local area and they didn't disappoint. That says a lot considering the pedals I was using, some cheapo plastic block-style Wellgo pedals that are being replaced my Wellgo MG-1's this weekend. I recently found out that many of my shoes are too small for me, too tight on my feet. I thought I was a 10 but a new balance store measured me as a 10.5 leaving me room for toe movement. I'm a USA 10.5 and a minimum EUR 44 shoe size. I ordered these in 10.5 and the fit is perfect, leaving me just enough room for toe movement and not crushing my foot. They fit a bit tight at first but after wearing them for a day, and coupling that with the fact that I'll always be running them with compression socks, they're perfect. I can tie a standard bow and then tuck it underneath a small nylon strap that's built into the shoe near the top of the laces, which I figure that's what it's there for.

Would recommend for sure. These shoes will deflect some serious stones that shoot up which will be a nice change from my mesh-topped SPD shoes. Many have said that these shoes are a bit heavy. Sure they're not as light as my race-weight clipless shoes but I didn't go to flats for incredible pedaling efficiency. I'm no weight weenie. I run a Scott Scale Elite, 29er Hardtail with a dropper seatpost that's probably around 27-29 pounds setup tubeless.
