Been wearing Cat's on the job for 10+ years. Always steel toe, mostly the "second Shift" style. Always last a good year before the soles crsck or the seams split. Thought I'd try these made with newer lighter materal, were comfortable from day one, allday, no break in period. Had these since august, and have just noticed some minor cracks on the front rubbber part where my foot flexes. Don't know if this will get worse or crack all the way through, that would negate the waterproofing. I'll keep you posted. The soles are much more cusioning when I walk, so my feet aren't as tired, and they seem to be holding up just fine (the soles).

UPDATE July '13: Well the rubber at the front cracked all the way through to the inside some months ago, and the soles have cracked and split as well. Lasted about 11 months before I needed to replace them-- so not as durable as other styles of cats, but perhaps because of the softer sole you sacrifice longevity. Have already bought a different style (Diagnostic), and they seem a little better designed at the front area (less rubber and more leather).
