I purchased these after also reading the reviews. They are tall boots- (about 14") but NOT uncomfortable to to walk or sit while wearing them (5'5'). They bend at your instep VERY easily(right out the box= NO break-in needed), LOTS of nice comfy footbed padding- which MY the "wellies" did NOT have. Using these I know I won't be feeling every rock I walk on like I did wearing the wellies. These are for us that need to be working in bad weather, around horses, in stalls, pastures, etc. & NOT having to think about your feet hurting or your back hurting because of wearing waterproof boots ALL day! Plus, the tops are easily folded down if needed. I can also get my jeans into these easily- not so with the wellies. There's LOTS of room for heavy socks, or orthotics if need be. They are generous in their sizing. They look like they weigh a ton, HOWEVER, they are VERY LIGHT in weight. I DID find them cut narrower than the other Orignal MuckBoot Muckmaster HI-CUT. I normally wear a size women's 8 & ordered the SIZE 7 in these & also the MuckMaster style. I sent the MuckMaster back as they were too big in the footbed and the calf area. SO, IF you have large calf/wide feet-go with the MuckMaster Hi-Cut. Normal/slender calf: Tack Classic Hi-Cut is for you. You will be able to work in these ALL day unlike the well known high priced "wellies". At this point in my life- I'm choosing comfort over cute colors & fads. These won't win ANY "good looking" contest but in the comfort contest- HANDS DOWN-THIS IS THE WINNER! I own 2 pairs of those famous wellies-now they go to GoodWill box! And KUDDOS to Amazon for having them INSTOCK, lowest price & fast shipping. These WILL last years without leakage or complaints from me about being uncomfortable--Lastly: think of waterproof,high top, bedroom slippers.. then you have these boots!
