Super soft, comfortable, and unlike many ballet flats they're flattering on feet that aren't extremely narrow. And yes, DO ORDER A HALF SIZE UP. I'm a 7.5 in evvvvvverything, and a 7.5 French Sole (Zeppa or Sloop) is a foot-eating hell monster. I mean, if you enjoy ingrown toenails, foot cramps, or wearing multiple bandaids then by all means, go ahead and order your regular size. Yes, they're nice soft leather and yes, they will stretch/mold to your foot to some degree - but not nearly enough.

Do note that the patent naplak Sloop or Zeppa is, like all patents, plastic coated. While it's nicely thin and supple, it's not nearly as stretchy/pliable as non-patent leathers -- this will be particularly obvious at the seam across the vamp. If you have medium to wide feet, you might want to stretch them there (or have your local shoe shop do so), otherwise that seam is going to dig into the top of your foot something fierce. I stretched mine myself (with a standard shoe stretcher) and it made ALL the difference.
