I've worn Keens, Garmonts, Asolos & these Salomons ... the Salomons win. They're lightweight, but feel solid on your feet. Little-to-no break-in period, well-made with no internal exposed edges, the soles are grippy on wet rocks, great support while backpacking, my feet stay dry, they're sturdy enough to support my ankles & feet on scree without being so stiff they cause blisters, no fraying or break-down of materials after a lot of wear ... AND they're affordable?!?? You get more than you pay for with these. I can't say enough good things about these boots.
The width is average (not wide like Keen or narrow like Merrell) & the sizing is right on.
I generally wear them on backpacking trips with a 35 lb pack & their performance rivals (or beats) all of the other boots I've tried, owned, loved.
