I am a recent Chaco convert--now I won't buy anything else unless I have to. Chacos just have the best support for my feet or any shoes I've tried. I wish Chaco made running shoes, slippers, and dress shoes--then I'd never have to buy anything else! This particular pair of Chacos has the lower-profile EcoTread sole, which I prefer. The interior Luvseat support on these is more flexible than in other Chacos, and the insert is removable. It has little gel-like nubs underneath that help support the foot (very comfy). Another review I read described these as plain-Jane, and I suppose they are, but that was what I was going for. I bought these to be an everyday, under the jeans kind of shoe for all kinds of weather (including Oregon rain), and that is exactly what they are. They have a roomy fit for me-- my feet measure 9 1/4 inches, or 23 1/2 cm, and I ordered a 7.5. Size charts generally say I should wear a 7, but I order up because I like my toes to be able to wiggle. I could easily have worn a 7 in these, and I kind of wish I had! I could wear layer heavy socks and these would still fit. That in mind, these are true to size--no need to size up, as I've heard other reviewers recommend for Chacos. These don't have a wide-cut ankle, but they're a little roomy through the area on top of the boot, in front of the ankle. I think this makes it so your foot can bend and move, but it also makes them appear a bit too bulky through that area to wear with skinny jeans. Under jeans--yes!Exactly what I was looking for! (Nice leather, too.)
