Due to the side effect of the medication, my legs are swollen all the time. It's not extreme but just bad enough that I can no longer wear the regular sized boots I used to wear. I originally tried "Wide" shaft (Topic 41366 Boot) which was way too big. This pair, the "Medium" shaft (Topic 41347 Boot)is perfect with a little room to spare - I can tuck my Jean leggings in comfortably. It also has elastic to expand. If you are runner who is not over weight but tend to have larger calf, these might be perfect too. The only problem I have is that the shaft is too tall for me. But being 5'2" nothing is made for my size. Having said that, I didn't have the problem with the regular sized boots... Here are the break downs.

My ankle is 8�"
My calf is 13�" (largest area)
I bought size 6C/D

Pros:
* Shaft is roomier than regular boots by 1" - 2".
* The leather is very soft.
* These boots are very warm.
* The versatile cuffs offer two looks in one.
* Elastic on the entire shaft length on the back will give added room.
* Low heels let me wear these all day without pain.

Cons:

* Shaft is �" - 1" higher than normal - maybe good for taller ladies.
* They don't look like high end boots - but these are not over $500 either.
* I would love to have 2 �" heels.
