The VivoBarefoot Stealth Running Shoe is the ideal shoe for road running, gym and general sports. The upper is constructed of laminated Hex mesh, which moves freely with your foot giving a second skin fit. VivoBarefoot have studied the motion of running to be able to understand the full range of movement the foot achieves through the gait cycle. Through this they have designed their shoes to mimic barefoot running but with added protection and comfort. The Stealth has a zero drop with anatomic width to allow your arch and toes to load, splay and recoil without restriction, this acts as shock absorption in the shoe to help reduce joint and muscle pains. The shoe has total flexibility to allow the big Toe to engage rapidly for independent rear and fore-foot movement, giving you full motion control. It also has a patented ultra-thin, puncture-resistant sole for maximum proprioception, allowing you to feel the road while safe in the knowledge that your feet are fully protected.

Vivobarefoot is, in my opinion, the makers of some of the finest minimalist footwear in the business. I own Breatho trail shoes, Gobi casual shoes, and another style of running shoe whose name eludes me at the moment. The new Stealth is a wonderful addition to their line.

I typically run completely barefoot, but sometimes, the conditions (of both the road or my feet) call for some type of footwear. I was approaching a local half-marathon and wasn't sure if I'd be able to do it unshod, so I bought a pair of Stealth shoes. Since I am already use to no padding between foot and ground, the thin sole and zero support of the Stealth wasn't a surprise to me, but if you aren't well-prepared, these shoes could overwhelm you. Good ground feel, roomy toe box, and very snug fit when laced properly. I typically wear a size 10 shoe, and these seem to run true to size. As it turned out, I raced barefoot, but wore these shoes on a hike the day before and they were terrific. I don't even like to wear socks if I can avoid them, and these shoes were comfortable and my feet blister-free afterward.

They ARE pricey, though, and that's too bad, because more people should be able to experience how nice these shoes are. An outstanding minimalist road shoe, I gladly give these 5 stars.
